Surprised that the sun came out? So were we, when we crossed the Golden Gate with our bikes and arrived to the area Sausalito right by the water. It was like arriving to a different country and climate, it was so warm and sunny. We had lunch at the restaurant Scoma’s, a cute blue sea house on the water. Not to pricy and the food was so freakin’ awesome! I had scampi in a garlic and vegetable sauce and J had tuna sashimi, it was to die for…

It’s so foggy in San Francisco and especially on grey and cloudy days. We almost didn’t even see the Golden Gate! It’s constantly a lot of people, bikes and cars passing the bridge; so it’s not peaceful to stand up there. But it’s a super cool and majestic craftsmanship, that you really must see and cross. More of what’s on the other side of the bridge in the next post!

Ghirardelli chocolate paradise

The famous chocolate factory of San Francisco is a must see! Their shop is amazing; you can fill out your own gift boxes with their flavoured chocolate squares, or hang in their sundae bar and get crazy big and delicious desserts. I had the most spectacular hot chocolate with sea salt caramel and whipped cream, so freakin’ awesome. If you’re not passing San Fran, you can find Ghirardelli in other cities and states as well!

Fisherman’s wharf

First stop the first day in San Francisco – Fishermans Wharf! Such a cosy place and heaven in you’re into seafood. It’s just by the water and there is literally seafood everywhere; restaurants and market stands.

We rented a bike and biked our way along the harbour to be able to make a lot of stops, but if you’re feeling a little bit more adventures you can always go with the orange viking truck “Ride with the ducks”, which is a sightseeing car that both rides on the streets and in the water (!)
